Abstract
Background and purpose: This research was conducted with the aim of predicting the quality of life
based on experiential avoidance, the meaning of life with the mediation of spiritual health in mothers of blind
and deaf children.
Method: The current research is an applied and correlational research. The statistical population of the
current research included all the mothers of blind and deaf children in Khorramabad city in the year 1400,
which according to the average of previous researches and the number of variables, a total sample of
300 mothers have been considered using purposive sampling method. The data collection tools included
World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire - Short Form (2005), Experiential Avoidance
Questionnaire (2011), Meaning of Life Questionnaire (2006), and Spiritual Health Questionnaire (1982).
Data analysis was done by SPSS software version 24 and AMUS software version 24 and using structural
equation modeling (SEM) method.
Results: variables of spiritual health, meaning of life, experiential avoidance had a significant effect in
predicting the quality of life of mothers of blind and deaf children (P=0.001). Also, spiritual health negatively
and significantly mediates the relationship between experiential avoidance, meaning of life, and quality of
life of mothers of blind and deaf children.
Conclusion: Considering the influence of the studied variables on predicting the quality of life of mothers of
blind and deaf children, planning and creating appropriate infrastructures should be done in order to improve
the quality of life of mothers of blind and deaf children.
