Teachers’ need for getting familiar with teaching methods that have a strong theoretical and experimental support requires the introduction of such methods. The direct teaching is an organized and teacher- oriented method which has been supported by many theoretical and experimental methods with in the last few decades. In this article, the general introduction of this method and its applications, especially in the area of learning disabilities will be dealt with. At the end, the opinions of those who are for or against this method will be pointed out.
