Background: Stigma is a psycho- social processes that starts with labeling and ends to social avoidance. Labeling “autism” is beginning of activation this process in people with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Since stigmatization has psychosocial disadvantages for stigmatized people and there are few researches in this subject, this article has been focused on stigma in mothers with autism spectrum disorder.

Conclusion: This study consists of definitions, classifications, aspects of stigma and then processes of stigma in mothers with autism children.
