Abstract
Background and purpose: Considering the important role of visual learning, special strategies should
be considered for students with visual impairment. Therefore, this research was carried out with the aim of
"designing and validating the model of the learning package based on the blended approach of students
with visual impairment in the first period of elementary school in the course of experimental sciences".
Method: In this research, a combined exploratory method was used. To obtain the components of the model,
the inductive content analysis method, and for the internal validation of the model, the descriptive survey
method was used. The statistical population for designing the model included all articles, books, theses,
treatises and interviews with specialists and experts from 2010 to 2022. The statistical sample included 9
theses, 18 treatises, 43 books, 47 articles and 17 interviews, which were selected purposefully. The statistical
population for validating the model included 42 teachers, experts, textbook authors, doctoral students,
and university professors. The data collection tools included documents, interviews and a 16-question
researcher-made questionnaire, 15 of which were designed and compiled according to a 5-point Likert
scale, and 1 of which was open-ended. The content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by experts
and its reliability was 96.4% with Cronbach's alpha.
Findings: According to inductive content analysis and coding of documents and interviews using MaxQuda
software, 10 main components and 50 secondary components were obtained. After analyzing the content
and considering the done coding, the main and secondary components were first designed and developed
in the form of a conceptual model, and then a process model. The findings of internal validation showed that
conceptual and process model models have high internal validity. Therefore, it is suggested to use these
models in order to prepare and produce a learning package for visually impaired students.
