Background: The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the mental health in mothers of mentally retarded children and deaf children. Method: 50parents (33 with deaf children and 27with mentally retarded children) were selected and they complete Reef questionnaire. Results: Results show that the well-being of mothers of mentally retarded and deaf children has no significant difference. The only significant relationship between mothers' education and the autonomy subscale is found. Finally, there is no significant difference between well-being of mothers with a child with special needs, and more than one child. Conclusion: Accorded to mental health of Exceptional Children's mothers, consulting services will be effective in this regard. Education as an institution that has direct contact with the parents of these students can be effective in providing these services.
